The First Snow-Part 2"Altanna?" Her father's voice cut through her thoughts, quiet yet barbed with disappointment. He had been stricter than usual lately, most likely the result of something amiss at the lab. To anyone else his voice might have sounded like a soft caress, infused with parental affection. The cultured tones of his speech weren't enough to fool Altanna; she knew when her father was being caustic.   
"Yes Father?" She answered, matching his languid tone. His eyes darted towards her fiancé, who was currently discussing some sort of improvements he was making on his father's technological weapon. His fingers had ventured over her thigh The First Snow-Part 2

Side Story-The first snowIt had snowed through the night for the first time in fifteen years in the city. The elders had been persuaded by the populace to allow natural weather phenomenon in a meeting not a fortnight before. The cold air didn't help their arthritis or rheumatism but it did do something to alleviate the monotony that had settled over their city. It wasn't for certain if the flakes were real or not but Altanna was sure of one thing, they were beautiful.   
She retired early and stayed up late, curling up in the window seat with a blanket draped across her lap. The windowpane slowly frosted over, allowing her to etch tiny patterns with one sle Side Story-The first snow

Chapter 4 PreviewThe majority of the next day was spent traveling farther east. Raukan’s territory was over two-thirds wasteland, a product of the war that ravaged the empire before Ariann was born. Most assassins never ventured into the blighted ground, even Raukan had warned her against it more than once, advising her to simply give up her fugitive rather than venture into a suicidal mission.

Chapter 3-BreakThey moved at a breakneck pace through the night and the next day, flying like the wind that whistled through the eastern plains. His silver stallion bore their combined weight easily, covering more than twice the distance a normal mount might have without breaking a sweat. He was a powerful animal, a living legend that was unlike any Ariann had ever come across in the empire.   
 Locien had insisted she sit in front of him and although Ariann did not want to, she was in no mood to argue. After endless hours of riding the ex-assassin was rather glad she had agreed, even the eerily smooth gait of the stallion was too much for he Chapter 3-Break

I always write a new journal with an update so here I go.

Much to report but I'm way to lazy to write it. Summer school is upon me and I'm halfway to a bachelor of science degree. So life is good, love is pure:).

I'm just trying to keep writing. Push through it. Make myself post things, even if they're not perfect, even if I have trouble letting go.

It's the only way I can get better after all. And it makes most of you much happier with me:)

I hope all of you are succeeding in your goals and just remember that nothing is achieved all at once, it's little steps that get you there. It may seem insignificant but any progress towards your goal really is progress:).

I can't speak french at all so it's completely fine. For some reason spanish seemed more useful at the time, probably because I live in the United States.
